The report
Legends from Norfolk describe a phantom hound, part of the Black Shuck folklore, but distinct to Overstrand village. This version appears larger than a horse, with blazing red eyes, stalking fishermen and night travelers along the cliffs. Unlike the more famous Blythburgh Shuck, Overstrand’s beast is sparsely recorded and appears in local oral tradition rather than literature, making it one of the rarer Shuck variants.
