About this project
Visitors From Space is a map of the things people have reported and could not explain.
What is here
The archive currently holds 195 reports across 33 countries and six continents, broken down as 82 ufo, 19 ghost, 2 bigfoot, 35 cryptid, 15 unexplained, 30 folklore, 12 ghost ship. Each entry records what was reported, where, and when, along with a longer account and links back to the sources it came from.
It started as a map of UFO sightings. It grew, because the same instinct that makes someone write down a light in the sky makes them write down a figure on a staircase, a creature in a treeline, or a ship found drifting with nobody aboard. They are filed together here because they are all reports of something a witness could not account for.
How entries are written
An entry describes what was reported. It does not assert that the report was correct. Where a conventional explanation has been offered, it is included; where one has not, the entry says so rather than supplying one.
Coordinates place the report where it happened, as closely as the sources allow. For legends attached to a landscape rather than a single address, the coordinates point at the place the story belongs to.
Contributing
The list is far from complete. If you know a case that is not here, have better sources for one that is, or spot something wrong, please get in touch.
