The report
Bettiscombe Manor in Dorset is home to a mysterious skull, believed to be that of an enslaved Jamaican servant brought back in the 18th century. Local legend insists that if the skull is removed from the manor, terrifying screams echo through the house and disaster follows. While other 'screaming skull' traditions exist in England, the Bettiscombe Skull is among the most obscure, whispered about in Dorset folklore but rarely documented in mainstream sources.
