The report
One of Dartmoor’s strangest legends is the apparition of disembodied hairy hands, which allegedly grab the steering wheels of cars or handlebars of bicycles, causing accidents. Reports date back to the early 20th century on the road between Postbridge and Two Bridges. Unlike Dartmoor’s better-known Hound of Baskerville tales, the Hairy Hands are far less publicized but are considered a genuine regional terror among moorland folk.
