The report
The Galley Trot is a spectral hound of Norfolk folklore, said to pursue travelers at night. Unlike Black Shuck, which is often a death omen, the Galley Trot is portrayed as more mischievous, scaring victims by growing larger the longer they flee. Folklorists collected reports in the 19th century, cementing its place in East Anglian legend.
