In the early 1800s, the Bell family of Adams, Tennessee, was reportedly plagued by a spirit known as the Bell Witch. The entity tormented the family with physical attacks, voices, and disturbances. It was so intense that it allegedly led to the death of John Bell, the family patriarch. The story has been passed down through generations and remains one of the most chilling ghost tales in American folklore.
