The report
The Mary Celeste set sail from New York in November 1872, bound for Genoa, Italy. A month later, the ship was discovered drifting off the Azores, fully seaworthy and stocked with supplies—but the crew had vanished without a trace. No signs of struggle or piracy were found, and the ship’s cargo was intact. Theories range from mutiny and piracy to underwater earthquakes or sudden storms, but the fate of the crew remains unknown.
