The report
Heaven Lake (Lake Tianchi), a volcanic crater lake in the Changbai Mountains, has been the site of repeated reports of giant aquatic creatures. Since the 1960s, witnesses have described black, seal-like animals up to 20 feet long, often seen swimming in groups. A 2007 surveillance team claimed to have observed several unidentified creatures moving swiftly through the lake’s waters. The inaccessibility of the location and harsh climate make scientific investigations difficult.
