The report
In December 1978, pilots flying near the Kaikoura mountain ranges reported seeing large, unexplained lights that followed their aircraft. These objects were tracked by air traffic control radar and filmed by a television crew on board. The sightings prompted investigations by the New Zealand Air Force and remain unexplained.
